Trump as Director

Dr Srinivasan Sundarrajan announced his retirement as the Director of NIT-Trichy after the completion of his very successful tenure in the campus. It would be an extremely difficult task to find a successor for our beloved director, but after much brainstorming and deliberation, the Collegium of Administrators decided to appoint the esteemed Shri Donald Trump to take over the reigns of NIT.

“The people of the United States don’t need me. You – the wonderful people from Trichy need someone strong, efficient and progressive at the helm, it was a natural choice”, said Mr Trump, in a press release issued yesterday.

Mr Trump’s appointment was followed by a variety of reactions from everybody on campus. “I know he’ll cater to the cream of the lot. But what about us? The common man? The regular 6 pointer?” asked Gudva*.

“Also, I hear he’s against foreign nationals. Does this mean we won’t run the campus anymore?” asked Mari*(a powerful member of the DASA community), while strumming a guitar and eating Doritos.

Mr Trump would bring radical new policy changes to the institute. “When DASA countries send their people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending him. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. Some I assume, are nice people” said Mr Trump in a recent interview.

The students of the Opal hostel were very interested to know Mr. Trump’s view on roll call, an issue which affects them substantially.

“Look we can discuss roll call. That, I will tell you. We’ll discuss it, okay? And I understand what you’re saying. And I get that from many people. ‘Is the roll call discussion dead?’ They’re asking me the question ‘Is the roll call discussion dead?’ and the discussion is in trouble. That I can tell you, okay? It’s in trouble. But we’re going to get it back and do some real jobs. How about the man with that beautiful red hat? Stand up! Stand up! What a hat!”, said Mr. Trump, when asked about the issue.

Mr Trump’s appointment would hail a new era of change for the students of NIT-T. With unwavering support from the Collegium of Administrators and the Education Ministry, he has adapted many of the government’s new schemes, especially championing the #selfieWithDaughter  programme.

The whole campus waits with bated breath; looking at Mr Trump’s actions closely to see if he’s going to make NIT-T great again.
